The Mobile Brigada is a Heavy Infantry that is the "Lieutenant" in the Operation: Icestorm missions.
The green light panels on the bases are VMC Emerald (071), mixing VMC Ice Yellow (013) in for highlights. They are shaded with Turquoise, then edged with pure Ice Yellow.
Silver bits are Shadow Grey, with Space Wolf Grey added in for highlights, shaded by adding black and then tinted with P3 Exile Blue. Hot highlights are pure white.
Awesome stuff I love those bases. I can't wait for my Icestorm kit...but I have no clue when it will get here.
ReplyDeleteQuestion - how do you like painting the Icestorm stuff as compared to Tohaa? I have started painting Tohaa and I find them a worthwhile challenge. but the symbiont armor bits are somewhat fudged a bit.
The detail of the Icestorm models is far and away better than any models heretofore released. Deeper cuts, a slightly larger scale and heft to them, crisper detail - All in all making it a fantastic painting experience.
DeleteI would also add a question, what colours did you use on this model's and the Tohaa models' bases? I recently got a set of the Omega Prime bases in preparation for my Icestorm box and was linked to your Tohaa article by Jeff from DF when I was asking around for examples in their FB group.
ReplyDeleteOne week ago, I gave the color recipe for the bases in this post:

The Tohaa ones are simple. VMC Neutral gray, shaded with black and highlighted with white. Mix shades in between the colors as necessary (I think I did a total of 5 or 6 colors). Then line with black, edge with white, and some segments of the base got a glaze of turquoise.
Do you usually glaze with inks or just paint + mediums/water ?
